  Notes (ENG):
In 4to small, with woodcut typographic mark: a phoenix on fire that emanates from amphora with the initials GGF The amphora rests on a base whose sides sit two winged lions. Mark headline: De la mia morte eterna vita I vivo - semper eadem. Wormholes in the first 50 pages. On the title page and the subsequent 7 cards the holes have been restored with paper. At subsequent cards (up to pag. 50) two central holes affect text. The holes continue to lower margin, without infringing the reading. Numbering errors on pages. 121, 124, 125 (instead numbered 141, 144, 145). Endpapers redone. Modern full parchment binding with dowels to the back. Second edition (original in 1555). This treaty on the duel contributed to the codification of the law of chivalry, but quaintly it was distancing itself just criticizing this practice. Susio expresses its revulsion at the use of weapons in the name of Christian morality. His position, like that of Antonio Massa, was actually quite a minority.
